 Learn the basics of
hot stone massage and how to create a relaxing, gentle and effective
treatment for your client. This video, produced by the
Institute for Massage and Spa Therapy Education (IMSTE), in
conjunction with the Institute for Therapeutic Massage (ITM) is
designed to show the benefits and contraindications of using hot
stones while providing 2 full-body and facial demonstrations (by
different therapists) to help you integrate one of the
most requested spa services into your massage therapy
routine.
Body workers will also be shown the equipment
needed, how to set up a workspace, the techniques to use, and how to
use the stones safely and effectively. It is recognized that
all therapists have their own style, and this video provides
the tools and flexibility to create your own routine.
By
combining the warm stones with a deep flowing massage, the result is
an extremely soothing massage for your client while saving the wear
and tear on the therapists hands. The heat from the stones
allows for the release of muscle tissue at a greater intensity than
with some other forms of massage.

 For thousands of years,
many cultures have recognized that all human beings have an energy
field surrounding their body that is directly connected to their
physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. It was also
believed that crystals, gemstones, and energetic healing rituals
could help restore balance to this system.
In this video, Kim
Hansen, a Reiki Master who has been healing with crystals for 10
years, introduces aspiring energy workers to the many aspects f this
type of healing. She will first introduce the human energy
field (aura), the chakra system, crystals and gemstones, and then
guide the practitioner on preparing themselves, their workspace, and
the client for a healing session that can be completed alone, or in
combination with a massage of any type.
When addressing the equipment needed to
perform energetic and gemstone healing, Kim discusses the vocabulary
used, the qualities of energetic crystals and stones, their specific
application, and the appropriate usage. Techniques are shown
to balance the chakras, relieve headaches, and clear the body of
stagnant energy. Finally, in the video's bonus material, 3
more techniques are addressed in the form of grids, pendulums, and
wands.
The 34 page manual expands upon all of the
concepts listed above, and goes to a greater depth of explaining the
history of energetic work utilizing semi-precious gemstones, as well
as a full explanation as to how they relate to the chakra system.

Hot Stone Heater - SpaPro 6 & 18 Quart
Models
 This professional,
attractive, high quality warmer made by Nesco, was designed
especially for heating massage stones, and is large enough for full
body treatments or servicing more than one client at a time.
It features a Teflon coated removable water
reservoir with an easy-to-clean finish. The temperature control
features a "preheat" setting of 375 degrees to heat the water
quickly as well as providing an "operating range" of 120-150 degrees
that lets you rapidly bring the stones up to the proper temperature
for therapeutic use, and then maintains a constant, even
temperature.
Outside dimensions for the 6 Quart Model are
15x11x7 inches. Weight: 11 pounds. This heater is
perfectly sized for the 38, facial, mani pedi and reflexology stone
sets. It can also be used for the 52 piece stone set.
Outside dimensions for the 18 Quart model
are 14 1/2" x 20 1/2" x 12 1/2" High. Spacing of feet is 10" x
15". Weight: 21 pounds. This heater is perfectly sized
for the 52 and 66 piece stone sets.
